Spotting Scopes for reading Martin leg bands.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a good and affordable (under 800.00) spotting scope for reading the leg bands on the Martins?

Hi friend,
We read bands around So. Texas, with quality scopes that are relatively inexpensive. I use a Remington scope 20 to 60 power. I think the objective size is 60mm. Cost was under $250. Most bands I read are at less then 20 yards, and my cheaper scope does as well as an expensive one. I read most bands at 20-25 power. I suspect you are watching for Tim or Allen. They are both great landlords and great banders. Thank you for contributing your effort.

To BBSPALMER, send me a mail as I have more questions for you and your use of a scope. I have worked with 50 mm refractor to 36 " reflector mirror scopes as well as rifle scopes. Haven't seen a band in person to know what resolution is needed but am sure John is correct. I think you can be well equipped for far less money than you expect. Thanks. *BW*
