Hello all, It seems like our one male from last year has returned to the same gourd and is working the skies hard. Do you think the female may still show up ? They did fledge 4.

If the female dosen't return, I guess and hope the male will attract a subbie along with some friends.

I moved the barn, had some stay over, but they left. I'm starting to look at the trees around my fence line real close !! Anyone in Florida need some firewood ??

Thanks,

Ken.

Hello Ken,
I'm glad to hear that your male has showed up! My first ASY male from last year showed up on March 7th and waited a whole month to finally get a female! He came back with the same female this year because he went to the same gourd too! So don't get discouraged over your lonely male, he will find a female! And hopefully more! I don't know what is going on over here! I counted 19 ASY martins and watched them all go in at dark when out of nowhere 3 more came darting in!! 22 martins this time of year at my site is unreal! All ASY's too! I can't believe the amount of birds I'm still getting! I have 5-6 males without females and 7 that are already paired! It is like I'm dreaming and need to wake up! I sure hope you get some of these martins!!! It probably is a good idea to trim or cut those trees because I did the same on the left side of my lake looking out at the martin set-up and it looks more open now! More open it is, you will get alot of martins!!! Keep me posted! John!
