this is a good day to view martins that are just learning to use a SREH. The round holes were just converted to SREH and this shows the martins reactions to the conversion.
The starlings were starting to compete for the cavities so the conversion was critical.
The male can already enter with lighting speed. He has two potential mates that he is trying to persuade.

We are on the Maurice River. The Maurice is brackish and tidal. It meets the Delaware bay about three miles down at East Point, NJ. The area is remote and consists of dense marshland and swamp. Dragonflies abound.
Swallows arrive in mid August and finish nesting mid July. There is a large annual roost in mid August upriver a few miles at Mauricetown.

Hugh, I love your streaming feed! It looks like good smooth video from your Axis cam. Do you know what your uplink bandwidth is from your I.S.P.? Fred in Michigan P.S. Are you on fresh water or salt water?

In the last few minutes there were no Martins but I did see a male HOSP checking out the cavities and I watched a Gull or Tern fly by!

I spotted the HOSP. He was only there for a few seconds.
He's in trouble if he comes back.
try the camera again. i'll change the setup so you can pan/tilt/zoom
