I apologize for shouting (all Caps in subject), but during a nest check today I found eggs in three nests and 13 out of 18 cavites have really good nests with many leaves, brown and green in the bottom of the pine straw. I have nothing but ASY birds and have not seen a SY yet. This is the first nest check in 7 days, so I'll have to wait for 5 days to start making the projections.
I appreciate all of the knowledge shared on this site, it sure makes it easier for someone inexperienced like me to make fewer mistakes.

I found eggs in my nest check as well, here in Rocky Mount. Out of 114 cavities, I have 64 nests. 13 nests had a total of 34 eggs. Only one nest had 5 eggs. The others had 1-3. I did a nest check last Saturday to try and get a count on my number of pairs, but there were no eggs of course.
Don't ever, ever give up. It will happen.

I started seeing eggs on 4/17. Two out of eighteen gords showing 6 eggs in all. They are really hiding the eggs well. I was really surprised to find 4 in one nest and hadn't noticed any before. So now I'm really digging in...gently, of course. Unfortunately on 4/21, I saw evidence that a 5 egg clutch had been attacked. :-( Only 2 left. Those same 2 were there the next day, so I'm fairly certain they were from the original clutch. Yesterday we had 20 eggs in all. We are really off and running.
