If you remember I posted about a month ago about an ASY male with a broken leg. At the time of my post his mate was nest building in a Super gourd on a shepherds hook. Well as of yesterday BL is a proud papa! His mate laid five eggs and they have all hatched. The male still favors his left leg but he does grip with the left foot when perching although he still uses his left wing as a crutch. He has no trouble going through the crescent opening in the gourd.
Nesting is really spread out. We have several nests that have fledged and then some that are just hatching. Looks like we will have martins here well into July.
