: This is my site as of Today 2-13-2006.. i have not put up my other housing yet. I left the bo-villas on the pole of the winter. My Question is.. As im getting a New bo-bungalow and i only have to two open poles and i also have a 12 room S&K house. Should I put the houses on both poles. or put one and leave one for a Perching Pole?

Tyler,
I would suggest putting up the houses on different poles. Personally,
I think nest checks, etc.... would be easier to handle if you only had to lower one house at a time.

Tyler, Looks like a great open location. In your part of the midwest, to get a new colony started, I would try wood housing with natural gourds. Good Luck!

Hello Tyler,
I like your open site and the housing that your using and going to use! But I would have a perch tree or pole like you mention because with that open site area, the perch pole or tree would really attract them! And I would get some Big Bo Gourds and hang two under the houses. That would attract them in to investigate the housing and perch tree! Great set-up you are going to have and good luck this year! And yes, I would put those two houses on seperate poles to have them next to each other like 10 feet apart in a row. And if you have to buy another pole to make a perch tree, I would! I have a perch tree too and it attracted lots of martins that were flying by! So, I hope this helps! Thanks John!
