Martin Colony History: I have had housing up at my residence since 2000. I added some additional housing and gourds in 2007, and I have been getting purple Martins in my houses and gourds ever since that time.

This may be a dumb question, but is there any particular time to do nest checks? In the afternoon, evening, etc.?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Everyone seems to think mid afternoon is best. That is when the PMs are out feeding. The females lay their eggs in the mornings, you do not want to disturb one while she is laying.
