This is my 4th year trying with a few lookers hear and there until yesterday when I got home around 3pm. There were three PMs on the wires by the T14 and I went to check them out and they left. I was gone the rest of the evening.
Well this morning at 6, I looked outside and there they were. I saw an ASY male and was not sure about the other two. They were checking out the house and gourds hanging from it. I would see the male go in a few of the compartments and one of the others would just peek in. An hour or so later I went outside to get a closer look and discovered I had an ASY pair and a lone SY female.
The pair were really looking into the housing options and seemed to favor one of the THGs. At one point I saw them both go inside.
They have been hanging around off and on this afternoon so I am thinking that I have a good chance of them staying.
I am so excited that maybe this is the year my colony will get started!

Thanks for your response. I had to leave around 2:30 this afternoon and had not seen the PMs for a while. As i was going out the driveway I saw them come swooping in and I thought I saw a fourth martin. Sure enough the SY female had brought home a boyfriend An SY male, and he was seriously courting her!
I almost canceled my plans to go to the concert I was leaving for but I went anyway.
I guess the question I have is should I still be playing the dawn song early in the morning if I have martins at my site?
Thanks for all the great information that I have gleaned from this forum the past three years. It really has helped and I am sure to need much more help in the future.

Isn't it amazing the effect these little feathered creatures can have on us?
I don't even have any pairs, but I get visitors now and then, and they just mesmerize me.

The next milestone is when they stay the night in your housing. That's when you can tell they're fairly committed. That's when you might consider not playing the dawnsong anymore, and letting them take over the recruiting duties.

yes James you are right about that...I have been trying for four years...Got a pair in May 14th and that female and male were the best realtors you can imagine....they brought in 3 or 4 more pair in about a weeks time....
So good luck on your first pair they can be your realtors now.
I would start turning the DS way down or off while your birds are there. They know where your site is and I believe at this point the song distracts them from doing what you want them to do while they are there. When their gone feeding you can turn it back on if you want to, but you have already witnessed how they do their own recruiting. Good Luck!
