My success with the Conley II entrances has been great so far, I also have been playing the Dawnsong but I purchased the "songbird magnet". I play in the morning, then noon and then an hour before sundown it works great! I no longer have any round holes on my T-14 as you can see by the pics below, I also sent a pic of the songbird magnet, I think this is the best thing on the market. It has a photcell to turn on when the sun rises or a manual switch that you can use with a timer.

Greg,
I'm glad to hear that your colony is growing.

I told you that you would like those SREH's, looks like the martins do to.

Martin Colony History: I moved to South Florida, from Delaware, in August of 2015.

I care for a 6 condo Sunset House as well as two Deluxe Gourd Racks, with 24 Chirpynest/Excluder gourds, along a canal in Pompano Beach, Florida.

At Quiet Waters Park, nearby in Deerfield Beach, I care for a Deluxe Gourd Rack with 12 TVG's. I also care for a Deluxe Gourd rack with 12 Excluder gourds with Modified Excluder entrances. I am substituting 6 Chirpynest boxes for 6 of the Conley II entranced gourds in 2026.

At another local park, Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek, I care for a Trendsetter 12, 5 gourds rack with 60 Excluder gourds with Modified Excluder Entrances and 1 Deluxe Gourd Rack with 12 Troyer Vertical Gourds with Starling Stoppers over the Conley II's to keep out smaller starlings.

Very nice. Glad you had such good fortune.

Looks like that aluminum Trio house needs some Excluder entrances as well as enlarged compartments. Probably starlings stick their heads in the door and go right in.

I play the dawn song to still attract more birds, and while the birds are gone foraging it helps to keep starlings away, I don't know why but for some reason as long as the song is going it deters starlings, I think its because they hear the call and they stay away, now I only play this for 45 minutes in the morning, at noon when I'm home for lunch then again be- fore sundown, I am however going to give my call to a friend who has a house but no luck getting birds, since we have a long weekend I can keep an eye on my birds and not have to worry about starlings. Also I never play the song after sun down because that can attract Owls. This call does have a volume control and now I keep it lower than I usually do.
