A couple of pics that I took this morning. It is in the upper 30's this morning but we get into the 60's each day. The Martins showed up Sunday. It is great to have them back. I wish everyone good luck this season.

Hello Randall,
That is great, isn't it? Those are great pictures! Congrats on your first martins! What did the martins first chose on your rack?, The gourds on top or bottom? I asked that question on another post so I was wondering about your martins too! And what is that on top that looks like a box? I was trying to figure out how to put one similar to that one on my rack too. I have the Deluxe Gourd Rack too! I'm adding another 6 arms and gourds later this month or two! Thanks John!

Thanks John, I sure am glad they are back. They are using both the top and bottom gourds since the day they arrived. I just got through watching them come in for the night.

The litlle box is a nesting material box that I made a couple of years ago. They really do love it. I put oak tree leaves in and they empty it out pretty quickly.

I've had great success with my gourd rack over the years and really do love the super gourds.

I hope you have a great season and post some pics if you can. Talk to you later, Randall.

Glad you martins have returned Randall, I have 15 - 20 birds at my site in Nunez, it is nice to watch them come in at night - hope the cold doesn't last too long. The site near my home (1/2 mile) has about 6 martins and I am eagerly awaiting visitors to me new Gourd Rack here in Maurice. Trees have always been my challenge but I have cleared some - hope to get some subbies as the dawn song plays each morning from 4-6. Take care.

Hey Cliff, nice to hear from you. Glad to hear you got some Martins in Nunez. I hope you get some at your home this year. The cold weather had me worried too, but I still have 5 martins sleeping in the gourds each night. The weather is really suppose to warm up in the next couple of days so they should be alright. Talk to you later.
