Anyone have pro's/con's of changing doors from Crescent to Excluder? We have starlings but they have not been in the house as far as we can tell. Need some new doors and was trying to decide what to order. This will be our 5th year and I am counting the days till 2/15 when they usually arrive at our lake place on LBJ, near Buchanan Damn Texas.

Thanks,
Mona

I checked and you have a Trio house. I'd suggest sticking with what has worked for you. Many folks report that "excluders" are a little harder for martins to learn to enter. Some landlords like them for maximum protection against starlings. The crescents seem to work well if placed no more than 1/4 inch above the floor, and I that's how the Trio crescent doors are made.

Mona, why not drop down a few posts and read "advice on entrances", it has been discussed there
