Ron,
This is INCREDIBLE!!!!!! You need to start a photo section and put them all in a spot so we can scroll through and look at all that you have done...
My kids love looking at your pics. Is there a way we can look at some and purchase them?
I want that one on a coffee mug!!!!!
Great job!!!

Thank you all for looking and your wonderful comments. You are welcome to use it for your personal use or to promote martins but please don't offer it for sale. I know some have never seen a martin drink so I thought this would be a good example.
Do you have a pond nearby so that you know they will come by?
Gus, my colony is set up around a pond beside my house.

If you'll send me an email () I'll send you some pictures no charge.
It is also my Windows desktop wallpaper - maybe for years to come.
I always enjoy your informed post and glad you chose this picture for your desktop.

Hi Ron,
FANTASTIC picture!!! You should make a calender! Do you have a "collection" of your pictures somewhere on the web? I REALLY enjoy looking at them. BTW, thank you for the pictures you sent me for my school presentations.

After posting a few pics on the forum I am aware that you have to scale them down a bit. If i could buy , beg or trade I would love to have the highest resolution pic that you could send me! I hope you don't mind but Your pic has my PC wallpaper smoking! I used to have a pic that someone posted of a hawk with a starling in his talons on the ground as wallpaper for a long time but your pic is AWESOME!
If we could work something out I would love to have it blown up and put it on our Rec room wall with a deco gourd beside a couple of retired PM decoys.
Many Thanks!

Just this morning I was running by a pond in our neighborhood and thought I would hang out there this weekend to see if I could spot anyone drinking. Never in a million attempts could I get a shot like that!!
It is the art in nature at its best and you captured it fantastically. Ditto what everyone else said--contests, publications, posters!
You're awesome.

Wow! I’ve never had so many nice comments on anything I’ve posted.
Thank you very much!! I don’t think I’ll be entering any contest, just thought it would be a good photo for those that have never seen them drink. I’ve watched them many times but couldn’t see exactly what was going on. The dip takes place in the twinkle of an eye and I was very fortunate to catch this moment. Thanks again! Look for a splash bath coming soon I hope.

- Martin Colony History: I have had housing up at my residence since 2000. I added some additional housing and gourds in 2007, and I have been getting purple Martins in my houses and gourds ever since that time.
What a cool picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You must have been in the right place at the right time
