I would expect that egg-laying is just starting in your part of Indiana.
Here in my southeastern Michigan colony, nest-building started yesterday. If the weather stays warm and dry I may see eggs in a week or so.
I have 5 pairs of Tree Swallows and the first TRES egg was laid yesterday. TRES are usually at least a couple of weeks ahead of martins, but each season is a little different.
Timing of the start of ASY egg-laying is hard to predict, very weather related.
Here it usually starts by the third week in May. That's about the time subbies start arriving and SY pairs extend the egg-laying period to around July 1.
Good luck, Mary
