After a couple of days of nice feeding weather, all had been calm at my small colony. Yesterday, late afternoon, I heard a ruckus going on outside. I noticed my martin's with head's sticking out of cavities or standing on porch's. I have come to learn this means new arrivals. I really couldn't get an accurate count since some of my martin's might have been inside or still out feeding. I walked out to the house, looked up, and saw two SY females. I was looking right up at them and no doubt. I looked back on my records for last year and saw where the first SY male arrived on April 18. So, guess we are on schedule, for my house anyway. Anxious to see what the next few days bring.
Hogwild, you should start seeing some SY's any day now.
Tim
Finally, some SY's

Busy, noisey day here also. My favorite time of the year - martins everywere. We're full up here with the arrival of the SY. Timing of the weather is perfect. Very happy.
