Hi everyone I was just wondering if anyone would have extra gourd seeds? I would be more than happy to pay postage.
Thanks Kevin

If you will send me your address by email I'll be happy to provide you with some seeds. These seeds germinated about 50% for me. I'll pay any postage.

I am just curious. How do gourds grow? (not smart answers to this either please). Do they grow up stuf like a vine or on the ground like watermelons and pumpkins? I have never seen them growing so I am clueless. I saw some seeds the other day at Lowes and point them out to my husband but he didn't seem to interested. I think that I am wearing him out with all of my different projects.
Thanks for the info.
I would put my name but it always changes it to duh. Anyone know the answer to why it does that?

I always grow gourds just for the vines and leafs. They are cool! The vines can get upto 50 feet long with huge leafs. I made a framed tunnel about 6 feet tall and 3 feet wide out by my martin houses. The vines would cover it completely and by late July or August you couldn't even see me in there.
Up here it's hard to get good sized gourds that mature fully and don't shrivel unless you start them inside 1st. My growing season is right on the edge of being too short, so any cool springs usually means no gourds here. But the vines are awesome!

I think they would be cool to grow. Can they just be spread on the ground or should it be tilled and everything first? I have a couple acre pasture behind the house that is sometimes used to grow watermelons (it was used last year so it is resting this year). If not much is required it will be easy to get my husband to go along with it. Also if not much is required for prep I could do it myself. I have kind of over worked him recently with different bird projects. We raise pure bred rabbit beagles as well so he stays pretty busy doing that.
