Crescents Working so far in Indiana

We have no Martins yet this year but decided to put houses up half way in anticipation. I went from 2" round holes to Crescents 1/4" off porch on my T14s this year. I looked out this morning and two starlings were trying to enter and to my surprise they could not get in. They kept sliding and could not get a grip to get in. The porches are painted with oil base paint, I hope this dose not effect Martins the same way.

I too live in Parke County Indiana & I put up all my houses yesterday. I study several colony sites around the area & know this next weekend the asy martins will start coming in. Warmer temps & south winds should prove good for us now. I will be looking to the sky & expecting martins.Dan Clodfelter :)
