This morn, I counted 10 asy martins on my site...It was very cold (for La)
28* & they were not flying! It has been an exciting week!

Joe, that's wonderful news and I'm so happy for you!!!! Did you get those gourds hung yet?

Also, are you prepared if you need to supplementary feed them due to the cold temperature and scarcity of insects? Mealworms, scrambled eggs and Crickets are the standard fare.

I have five here: 3 females and 2 males. It was clear and in the mid 50's today with very little wind so I think they were able to get enough insects to survive. It's going down to freezing tonight but then up to the 60's tomorrow so again, I think they'll be OK.

We sure have to watch them at this time of the year, don't we!
