I am donating a T-14 house to my city's Parks & Rec dept. They were able to get someone else to donate money to purchase a nest cam; but has anyone ever tried installing a nest cam in a T-14 house? If I can mount a nest cam in the T-14 house then I will look at having them buy one. If I can't mount the nest cam in a T-14 house then I will have them wait until next year to buy the nest cam because I plan on donating a gourd rack and gourds.

Any advice on this subject would be appreciated. Also, I wouldn't mind advice/preferences on nest cams.

Cheers DMS

Hello,
That is great to hear of you donating the house to the Parks and Recreation Dept!! That way the people who visit these parks will see and ask about the martins!!! It will only help our martins! I don't know anything about nest cams though! Sorry I can't help you there! But hope to hear that you get a pair or two this year! Good luck!!! John!

I will post pictures of how I mounted my nest cam in my T14 in a few days. It's easy and works great. One hole in the side of each housing unit. ( not every cavity ) and the nest trays are notched out in the front corner to accomodate the wire. Drill the hole pointing upwards so water wont get in, and caulk the unused holes. When I wanted to move the nest cam to another cavity, just pull the wire back through, move the camera, and recaulk the hole. Pictures will help.... I'll post them soon with better details. I will help via e mail or even by phone if neccessary.

Johnny,

Thanks for reply. I would be verify interested in your method for mounting a nest cam. I would also be interested in your opinion of the nest cams out there and what ones you would prefer.

Thanks again.

I have some pictures ( finally ) of the camera mount in my T14, but the files are too big for this web site unfortunately. Send me an email, and I can send you the series of pictures via e mail.
It's real easy, and works great....!!
