Hello. Can you tell me if there is an "official" stance PMCA has about using a mister for the summer heat? Or if PMCA has some other recommendation about how to cool the birds in the heat of the summer in the south? I was shocked to see how wet the inside of the housing can get even with a slight mist. I wondered if any martin house manufacturer is selling metal houses that are insulated? Would it be true that gourds are the better housing because they would be less likely to heat up? Thanks for your help. - jasmemphis

They don't cover everything but it's a start.

If the misters are placed properly and the nozzles angled outward so the air is cooled around the house your water intrusion is greatly reduced.
I'm a "nestcamaholic" Is 18 hours a day a bad thing? (I have 2 this year, luckily I have 2 eyes!)
