I have it nearly finished and will be ready to weld in the inside square angle to go around the square pole shortly. I am going to put two angles at oppoosite corners.I am going to cut a wood block to clamp both angles to, to hold it in exact relationship to center and perpendicular to the upper and lower plates of the assembly. I need to make this block a little larger than the square tube, now how much clearance should the captive angles have to the pole itself. I'm thinking 1/8" giving me 1/16" clear on all sides ,is that to much or to little?

BTW I'll remove the wood block after the angle is tacked in place,,

1/8" - 1/4" will work fine.......assuming the inside radius of the outside backet matches ok with the outside radius of the pole.

Yep ,no problem there, pole has a radius and angle is true square 3/16" aluminum
