Here's a photo from this beautiful spring evening in Forest Park, St.louis --one of the new houses this year in the park. It's on a little island..has attracted two ASY and two sub pairs. All total we have 18 pairs across three sites; up from 8 pairs first time out last year.
In the far background is the St. Louis World's Fair Pavilion.
This park hosts an amazing variety of birds, even though it's in the middle of an urban area. I saw a quail this evening.

Very good looking spot and housing John!
There's only 1 problem I see with this picture, I'm not the guy in that boat enjoying the view!!

Great site John and nice photo! Can you bring your own canoe on that lake or do you have to rent a boat there?

Kent -- I would hope you could. The park rents paddle and row boats. You can take them across the small lake, through a channel and into the "Grand Basin," a large man-made pool of several acres with fountains in front of the St. Louis Art Museum. Families and couples on dates seem to enjoy it.
By the way, Forest Park Forever, a group responsible for much of the park's "rebirth" in recent years, purchased this particular martin house from the PMCA. I work with the park naturalist to manage the house. Them's my gourds though - ha. There are two other housing sites in the park, if anyone wants a tour. One is at the golf course (visible from road) and another in a natural meadow, each about a mile apart. As much as I love a big big colony, I think it's wise to spread out our eggs.
