My colony starter second year bird and his mate survived the 5 days or horrible weather here. it was only below 50 for a high on one day, but, wet and consistently in the mid 50's. I think that they survived due to being on a lake and the lake temperature and insect hatches that occur even in the 50's may have sustained them (marshes).
A pair of subbies are hanging around-no nest material yet.
I only get to see this site 2-3 times per week until June, so I was very apprehensive in approaching the housing today.
Since I did not feed crickets, I am building strong martins!
Survival of the fittest.
They're still alive and a new pair showed up today!

jk,
Nice to hear your colony is still OK. If we can get several more warm sunny days for the flying bugs to re-appear in mass, our PM's should make it. Good luck.
