My wife and I were having coffee this morning on the patio. I said,"You know ,I need to move that small storage bldg(4' x 8') or cut down that pear tree to make room for my new gourd rack for next year." Well guess what the pear tree cut down was veto'ed rather quickly.LOL,LOL

I need that particular location as it gives the possible PM's, 4 flight paths North ,South ,East and West,,,,, that follows 6' high Cedar Fence lines in all 4 directions.

Hello. We have had martins for over 12 years - and a wonderful red maple for that long as well. Except for this year - we took it down to make the flight path better for the martins between our backyard and my son's backyard. We have four martin racks between us and the maple tree was definitely not helping the martins - so to the tune of 350 plus having the stump ground out, the martins are happier. Just thought I'd let you know what landlords will do to their yards to make the purple martins welcome. P.S. it's not the first tree we cut down or trimmed back ! Hope it will be the last . . . - Jolene / Memphis, TN

Hi,
I have to admit that my back yard also looks a bit like Edward Sissorhands gone crazy! I continue to try and convince my husband that Oak and Maple trees are meant to be topiaried! (Is that a word?)
Fledge on!
