Banded Martin

this year I have about 10 pairs of Martins and the other day I was sitting on my front porch watching them through a spotting scope and noticed an adult female with a band on her leg. Is there any way to find out where she originated from?

Yes.
There are 9 numbers on the band. Get a spotting scope with a 30x or higher mag to see them numbers. It might take several days to read them, but it can be done. Once you get the numbers off the band, you can report them to the gov and they will tell you where she was banded (probably as a chick, so where she was born).
