Gourd painting difficulties #2

I'll start a new post on this subject so you all don't miss the answer.

I stopped and picked up the test gourd at the auto paint and body shop.
It was pretty but not accweptable as the primer he used was for polypropylene and not polyethylene.

I got the report from Sherwin Williams and they say its a gamble using their adhesion promoter primer.

thats strike 2

AHa!!!!!! all is not lost ,,,,,I have an internet friend in Vermont who sent me a link to a primer that is/was formulated specifically for polyethylene.

I have some on order,if my calcs are correct I can paint primer and top coat for about $3 each,,,,now thats better than a stick in the eye.

Martin Colony History: First started in Gretna, La in 1969 with a small homemade house, have had martins ever since at 2 different homes in Texas

I spoke with them in detail,,,,,,it appears to be the answer.It probably won't arrive until the end of next week and then I got to corner my BIL to get him to paint them. This is strickly a primer and will need a top coat.

I think it will work out okay,
