SYs arrival on time in Sacramento, CA

My first SY was today (May 1). Despite a 1-2 delay in arrival by ASY birds here this year , The first SY was right on time. First arrivals in the past 3 year were all recorded between April 28 and May 2.

For anyone in central California that might be contemplating attracting martins to housing, this would be the time to open up and start playing songs. So far no martins in CA are nesting in boxes or gourds to my knowledge.
