Do Gourd Houses swing in the wind or do they have a rigid/fixed mounting assembly?

Dick,
It depends upon how they are cinched up. If you cinch them up tightly, they will swing and sway very little. If you give them much slack below the crossbar,(they are attached to) they can swing wildly in high winds. I don't recommend the latter.
It appears the jury is still out on this one

Some folks say if they swing a little bit, the EHS will leave them alone. Bunk. I've seen them swinging pretty good, and EHS still going into them. Some swinging seems to be okay, just NOT wildly, NOR bumping into each other. Apparently, that will chase the PMs away quicker than most things. CUL Lou

English House Sparrow... house sparrow, one in the same.
I attatched my houses to a 3/4 square aluminum tube, which is bolted to the floor in 4 spots. I then attatched the gourds with 3/16 coated cable, using cable clamps. They swing alot, which doesn't seem to affect the PMs.
