I still wonder what I'd do if I trapped a Starling that was someone's escaped (pet), and as I was winding up for the fatal blow, the bird blurted out..."please don't please dont".

I'm with Chuck. If they can't control their "pets", no matter what kind, then I will control them for them. I have two dogs, and they roam the farm, but an electric fence keeps them where they belong. And, I am not talking about one of these tree hugging underground deals, this fence is the real thing, designed for livestock. One touch, and they have learned to not even go close to it.

2015 One Pair of subbies came and stayed a few nits but got chased away by Bluebirds and Tree swallows.
2017 0ne pair of subbies nested and fledged 4 young
2018 Tree Swallows AGAIN chased away any martins that wanted to nest
2019 Same old story................

And to think. This person is probably being paid by a grant, which you and I pay for to begin with. What a waste of time and money. As for "songbird" I guess if country can now have "Country Rap" then they can call a EUST a songbird. Of course I'm NOT listening to Country Rap, no more than I'm going to leave a EUST alone because he sings??? He'll be just as dead as a mute EUST. ha ha. Some of the garbage on the radio now days is as bad as EUSTs are in the bird world. I get rid of both just as quickly. CUL Lou
