Private Message function is inoperative it seems. I don't know what the PMCA is paying for this site, if anything. But even if it is free, they are paying too much.

I got a message saying I had a private message, but nothing was there

People can send a private message and them retract it. They can retract it up until the recipient reads it. Emil, it appears that your sender retracted their message before you got there. I just received a private message today, all appears to be working well. If you continue to have problems, please let me know.
As for the website, yes we are paying too much for too little with our current web hosting provider. We are working on switching servers right now. Hang in there everyone. Thank you for you continued support and patience.

Actually the guy notified both Emil and I that he had sent the PM, as we were waiting on plans of a trap he had designed. I don't think he would have pulled it within minutes, but who knows.
I do know that the topic notification hasn't worked correctly in almost a month. With no email notification, I thought a certian thread was dead. But when I visited the forum, it was thriving with dozens of new messages (and no, I did not accidently click on the stop watching key). This has been so on any thread I have posted on the past few weeks.

I'm the one that sent both of the above gentlemen PMs and NO I did NOT retract either of them. I also receive notification that I had a PM but my inbox was empty.

Ok, i will look into this when i get some time. Could one of you tell me whether you're talking about Private Messages (PM) or emails generated from the forum.
About a two weeks ago our sendmail(server program that processes emails from webpages) was broken and we lost many emails. That was a problem from about April 3rd - April 7th. If you tried to use this forum's email feature (not PM), there is a good chance it was lost. Consider resending your emails from that period.
As for PMs, I received one today. That suggests to me that that feature is working, but i will look into both features soon. I am buried in work.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

emails sent from the forum, as I don't have my email address public here on the forum
