Well folks i was replying to Barb's ( The floridasunshinegoddess) Post and telling her that I hadn't had a Hawk attack in quite awhile here at my site, well i no more than got these word's out my mouth ,got off line, went out to my PM Housing When from out of nowhere, a Large Hawk, i never saw him , i was watching My Martins fussin to ea other on my Gourd Rack When in an instant they Bolted w/o any type distress call from them, in an instant the Hawk appeared and was headed for a ASY Male on one of my HZTroyer's, when all the Martins Bolted , it left just my Decoy's and Yes , you Guessed it, the Hawk took the decoy, if i'd had my Camera i coulda Got you a Real Kodak Moment....This is truely a Hawk attack with a Happy ending...no martins were injured in this attack...so Folks, i'm telling you the Decoy's do really work good both as an attractant to Martins and to save Martins Lives too...Today a Decoy did it's job letting the martin slip away...all is well here today.

KC, thanks for the post. I too am a believer in the benefit of decoys at an established colony. I'll bet they save a lot if birds.
Oneida Lake's one and only Bonehead (that darn sparrow hasn't had the decency to come back and give me a shot at capturing him, could be a long summer with my reputation the line)
