Should I have my Trio house open when I play the Dawnsong?? I put four gourds under my house and I have two decoys on it. The scouts have arrived in our town but there is not very many!!!
I started playing the Dawnsong about a week ago. I have the gourds open but the house is still closed up. I'm afraid if I open the house the sparrows will attack it!!!! I told my wife that when she hears martins to drop the house and open it up.
Am I doing the right thing on waiting for the subbies, or not????

I would open two of the Trio Compartments to give them a choice. We are beyond the first most active sparrow nesting time period here.

I would open all holes to the trio house and put the sparrow door trap in it and catch the sparrows now before your martins come! Then all havoc will break loose! John!

I would open them all up too. Catch the sparrows now and get them outta your way. I open mine up then catch about 5 or 6 then they are usually gone the rest of the summer as by then they all already have established a nesting site and are not looking anymore.
