I know this subject has been whipped to death about LL's unsure about the martins entering those sreh's/Cresents , well i have turned Most of my Gourd's on my Gourd rack toward my back Patio where i sit and here's my Observation :Here at My Colony The Martins not getting in or having a struggle getting in is not always correct , after watching day in and day out this year i have personally wittnessed what looked like Martins struggling to get in but in fact after taking a closer look, it was a female or another Martin sitting on the inside porch that wouldn't move to let anyone in, I have watched this time and time again often leaving a martin sitting outside until dark or until they can bully their way in, I never gave this much thought until i saw and answered alot of posts this year on this subject and began to really take a closer look, anyway thats my Observation and i hope that this comment puts those unwary LL's at ease.
I wish everyone well this year.
To all LandLord's worried about the sreh's/Cresents

I agree. It also is frustrating when the martins peer into the gourd but refuse to go in, even when it is nearly dark. I have a few round holes near the bottom center of my rack, and they won't go into them either. I often wonder why they are so reluctant to go in, even when the gourd is empty.
