My ASY male that started my colony last year returned last Friday. He has been around several times per day since. On Sun. he started going into a nest on the same pole he nested in last year (I switched the house from a single story unit to a 2 story unit with a slightly different layout so he didn't have the exact same cavity available). Last night he spent the night in his favorite nest for the first time this year so I am now officially a 2006 landlord.

This is a little later than I was expecting for NW Ark. but I'll take it.

Defed,

Still don't have a scope yet. Thinking of getting a scope, then a good tripod, then last a digital SLR camera. Do you see any problems with this? I currently have a Cannon AS-400 Digital Elph that I can use with some degree of success (not near as good as the SLR I realize).

My brother has a cheap spotting scope with camera mount. We used it to get a few pics of an eagle nest and the male and female eagle last weekend. Not the best pics but much better than I thought possible with this setup from 1/4 mile away.

i'm far from an expert on digiscoping, but i do know that unless you already have a decent tripod, you should get the scope and pod together. i had a very lightweight pod when i got my scope and it wasn't very good, even for just spotting. you need a pretty solid base.

digiscoping w/ a dslr is even more out of my league. i don't think i will ever use anything but point and shoot digicams. currently have my cp4500. most ppl hate it now (too slow, lcd too small, etc) but i like the convience of the swivel body and it screws onto my eyepiece.
