Well, First year for gourds I have to say a poor offering. My T-14 is full of martins already  and the other houses are filling up quickly :???: . the gourds have got a couple of pairs interested, but for the most part they are ignored. :-(

My future set will eventually have two gourd racks and two T-14's. I guess house martins takes awhile to take to the gourds  . By the time SY's arrive that be all that's left  . IMO my PMs are use to the houses so they take to them first I guess :???: .

IMO the T-14 offers the best in Protection, strength, cooling or heating capabilities, I also think T-14's design (if modified) is the best type of housing offered for pm's. but, I'm narrow minded

RC.....I really enjoyed your article in the PMCA update about the T14 mods! Is there any way you could post the same two pics here on the forum for all to see????

RC,Wish that I could experiment with gourds - in my area gourds are almost unheard of, they are the last compartments chosen.

Birds should start arriving towards the end of next week - I am trying out some of your concepts on my t14s' - I'll keep you posted.

Have a great (guess its already the case) season.

Yep stan, PM's galore, Counted 40 plus, hopefully they will hang around. Had as many as 36 pairs last year, I should exceed that this year. Haven't seen any SY's yet, should be hear any day now. I hope you like the mod's, I sure do.

Stan, the baffles would be even better all the way to the top like the rest of the sides, I only done them half way up when I observed them Perching on them when I done lowered the house, also to save alittle weight. They were setting there like they were in the stealth mode like I couldn't see them  . Going to make me another one this winter. Hopefully it will be prettier than the one I cobbled togather out of a T10.

I wonder how many compartments I can put on a 6 by 4 1/2 laminated pole? Maybe 18 or 20? (maybe I better get a telephone Pole  )I also like my base, I can swivel down my pole or replace it without removing the base from the ground. I hinge it down every fall and spring to water seal it. So far it still looks like new. Nice talking to you and you birds should be getting close in a week or two.... Rc

Hi Gene, I glad you are interested in the mod's, I think you will really like them, Louise reactived some of my old pictures and I have posted some newer ones week or two back ( the post was Porch domination defeated by roblrick I thing). I'm in the middle of learning a new server right now so just posting is a challange for me. Got any question fill free email me or I could email the pictures right to you if you want, as long as I can figure it out :???:

Gene -

Here's a link to the thread I bumped up, showing photos of the baffled nest trays and offset entrances.

another way to find things is to click on name of poster, such as RC, and click on view all posts - then look through the list to see if the info you want is there. Depending on who & when, that can be time consuming though.
