Yesterday I checked my nests at work and found one nest with a pipped egg. I couldn't help myself, I had to look today to see the newly hatched chicks. When I looked there were 4 beautiful pink chicks and 2 eggs left. I think that one of the eggs is clear but the other one still might hatch. They are beautiful.

Thanks all,

We will all be having this wonderful experience of seeing the first chicks of the year soon. (I am also hoping that all the newbies and long time wannabes will have this experience this year too.)

I should have my second nest of chicks hatch out today.

Good luck to all this season.
Sincerely
James

It's hard to believe -- babies already! That was a nice little nest they made too! Thanks for sharing the photo.

James, what a wonderful picture of a beautiful sight! I should have babies soon also... Unfortunately I am in New Jersey visiting my son and his family. Won't be back until the 18th.... My first babies will be 8 days old by then!

It's terrible when you have to choose between visiting your kids and being there for your Martins. Somehow I don't think my sons would understand if I got my priorities mixed up! Ha!
