I was just wondering when to play it.The scouts arrived about 2 weeks ago. This is my 2nd year and haven't seen any yet.Last year had lots of visitors but no takers.I was wondering if it would be to soon to play the chatter or do i need to wait until i see them or "IF" i see any at all? :-(

Thanks for any help.

Go to the home page and select the ( update magazine ) button. Then look on the right side of the page and scroll down to the Issue 3 (1) June 1991 and select (PMCA Develops Effective New Tool for Attracting Martins) read this and it will give you some good information.

Personally I would play the Dawnsong ANY TIME YOU CAN. I could put that on at noon and martins would be there in 10 minutes. It is a powerful attractant tool.

The daytime chatter will be very effective as well IF you have martins within hearing distance, which is the key.....
I'm sold on monitoring playing it, instead of just turning it on and leaving it, as when/if birds show up, turn it down or off.......I used a large speaker from my inside stereo.......just bought some speaker wire extensions, and put it outside, pointing upwards, and towards the housing....worked GREAT.......
Good luck !!
