Hello Everyone.
I have a Kestrel Hawk that is killing my colony. He is at the site every morning. I have seen him kill three martins, and sure he has gotten even more. My colony will most likely be destroyed with out some kind of help. Anyone have any ideas or comments on what I can do??.
PLEASE HELP!!!!

One thing that has helped some for me is to have a few PMCA decoys on the gourd rack. When the hawk attacks, he wil often go after the "slowest" martin....the decoy/s.......

Vic are your sure its a Kestrel and not a Sharpie? Our area has losts of Kestrels and I've had no problem from them but the Sharpie is just a little bigger and looks similar in flight. The Sharpie at my colony has finally migrated on but he was here for a month and was successful at least twice that I know of, probably more. I got familiar with his times and perching spots. You can divert them if you observe them long enough to figure out his plan. Good luck.
