Photos Of New Lone Star Houses

On March 22, 2006, I erected two new Lone Star houses in my purple martin colony. One is a 16 room four story Goliad with porch dividers installed on each door panel to minimize male martin nest domination. The Goliad is my favorite Lone Star house and really looks sharp! I already have one pair of martins. I also placed pre-built nests of pine straw in each compartment.

The other Lone Star house is the San Jacinto which is a different design. This house has eight rooms and is designed to minimize male martin nest domination behavior using separate porches and staggered hole placement. I placed pre-built nests of pine straw in each compartment. I already have one ASY male martin in residence.

The Lone Star products are outstanding in quality and my favorite commercial martin houses. They come already assembled and all you have to do is place them on the pole. If you are looking for a top notch commercial martin house, then I would highly recommend the Lone Star products.

I currently have four Lone Star houses: two Goliads, one 16 room and one 12 room; one Alamo, 14 rooms; and a San Jacinto, eight rooms.

Hello Steve,
I really do like my Lonestar House as well also, it complements my Lonestar Gourd rack perfectly , i like those Porch dividers you have there in the photo, i think i talked w/ you breifly about them in an email, didn't you say your neighbor Bob made those??. Steve is it possible that i could get some made for my houseing??. With my setup i had ordered the extra door's w/ all sreh entrances because of my past starling problem but since i changed out the doors i haven't had anymore problems.Let me know if you ,bob or someone can help me out on the porch dividers.

Hey Kenny,

Yes, I remember talking some with you via email. I made the eight porch dividers for my new Goliad and they are attached with rivets. You could also use small bolts. Please send me an email and tell me how many you need. I will be happy to make some for you and send them to you. The porch dividers help to minimize male martin nest domination but may not stop all of it. Plus the dividers just look good too me! Sounds like your martin colony is doing well.
