Hello Everyone!
I was out counting my martins to see if the count went up, when I was counting 24,25,26,27, and all of sudden a huge flock of about 50-60 martins came flying with my martin colony from across my lake! I was soo dumbfounded and couldn't beleive what I was seeing!! My count went up to 24 martins lastnight from 23!!! Then the sky turned black around my site!!! I don't know if they all were SY martins or ASY martins because it was almost dark!! But when my colony started to dart in their holes, the other's started coming in and it was sooo deafening with all the noise from the martins!!! It was soo exciting to see and hear all those martins screaming and fighting all over the gourds and housing on all three poles!!! Then some of about 10-15 flew off to a distance!! But there were 2 ASY males that were new because of them fighting over the holes that were left along with 4 SY or ASY females too! What a site to see and remember forever!! And my colony is still growing even though they haven't been here all day till roost time because of the hawk attack 2 weeks ago!!! Oh Well!! I'll just keep waiting!!! I will count and post tomorrow night to see who stayed and left!!! Good luck you all! John!

John. Since you don't feel those are all your birds, would you kindly send a couple of pairs up to Lowell, Michigan, in a couple of weeks?? I'm looking for some. Never had them before, but I'm sure there are a couple down South there who could just as easily start my colony for me. Thanks. CUL Lou

Hello CUL Lou,
Yes I sure will be sending some your way!!! I sure hope you get some this year!! I gained from this morning a SY female the paired with one of the ASY males that was lonely since he arrived the first week of March! Then gained probably what I can tell three more ASY males! All from the huge flock lastnight! So as of now, I have 9 pairs of martins and 5 ASY males! I will check tonight and update then!!! I will be pulling and praying for you CUL Lou!!! And many others too! Who would of thought that I would get this many this second year!!! Thanks John!
