This is my sixth year as a landlord, and have always used various gourds so far. This year, I just put up a T14 with 4 Troyer gourds attached to the bottom. I have three PM's so far, and they don't even LOOK at the T14, but they do check out the horizontal Troyer gourds.......maybe it's because they are accustomed to gourds vice wooden houses????

My experience is opposite. Seems Martins in my area are used to houses. If not for one female that chose a gourd last year, my gourd rack would have been completely empty. It's going to be interesting to see if more gourds are occupied this year.
Male domination of multiple cavities will likely drive a pair or two to your T14. Then you'll get to track how many others make the switch next season (unless everything fills up this summer, which is VERY possible).
Wishing you the best this season,
