Cajun,
You can google gourd society and find national org and state chapters. there are listings of people selling seeds and gourds there. or maybe a forum user has some gourd seeds and will send you some.

cajun -- I just finished cleaning out some nice gourds and have a lot of seed. PM me your address and I'll send you some, no charge, but sometime later when others need seed, pass them on. These seed are from nice gourds, but what you grow is very dependent on soil, growing season weather, etc., so no guarantee. -- John

Cajun, the soil pH needs to be about 6 to 6.5, and the thickness comes primarily from the potash in the soil..A good rich well tilled balanced soil with a bit of extra potash, and a lot of water, full sunlight, and a whole lot of room, plant the stalks about 8 ft apart..if you have these conditions, you should get out of the way, and you will be able to grow nice gourds..the vines grow about 1ft per day, and easily get 30 to 40 ft long.
I also have free seeds, but need you to send me a self addressed padded envelope that has stamps..A plain envelope gets torn up in the post office processing machines...

I have seeds that are out of my gourds and they are all between 10
and 14 inches across and 1/4 in. thick. I would be glad to send you some
all you have to do is give me your address.
