Well i have been very positive this year until about a week ago then The Old Man Threw another Cold Blast at us in Oklahoma, and winter precipt is expected along with high winds this Friday and Saturday. Heck we even cancelled our Search and Rescue Training with our Dogs this weekend.
We feel that this may be the last blast of the season and await the wonder of the Purple Martins painting their path throughout the United States, giving us all joy and happiness. So everyone pray hard for warmth and rain for our drought stricken states so that it may provide food for these wonderful birds.
Old Man Winter wants another Shot at Oklahoma!!

I would like to see some type of moisture move through the 4 state area
as it very dry. I'm afraid if the martins were to show up right now they
would have a rough time making it. I had martins as early as FEB 20TH
last season.
Good Luck Everyone

Well the wind and the cold has kept them back, as you can see by the scout map we are getting no scouts our way yet.

Here in East Central Missouri in the St. Louis area high temperatures are supposed to be in the 20s the next few days. I hope this will be the end of the cold weather after this cold spell is over.

Howdy neighbor! Looks like your forecast was correct. I'm so happy that our martins are not hear yet. Just the other day I bought some fresh wild bird seed (which they are really enjoying today), and when I purchased it I bought a new hummingbird feeder. Like the silly bird I am, I filled it and hung it up out side (heck it was above 80 degrees that day). Needless to say, it's frozen today. Guess that will keep it fresh until the hummingbirds get here.

Roberta. I think I'd take the HB Feeder down, clean it, and put it back into the box a few weeks. You leave it outside, and it could freeze and break. CUL Lou
