  Hi everyone. I couldn't post the other day...however....thought I would do it today. We had 3 Martins. It appears a female however I haven't seen her and two males on 2/12/07 early in the morning.. The weather was sunny but very cold. I wasn't expecting to see any that day. Well, the males have been coming in @ night. It is a joy to watch them and listen to their music.

Have a GREAT Day:)

Hi Sheryle.
Wooo-Hooooo! Great to hear our flying friends have found you out in NW San Antonio. Louise Chambers talked up in Fredericksbury last night to about 50 landlords and wantabee landlords. Only a couple of martins had been seen flying over that great town.

Your post confirms that they are headed that way and also validates all of the hard work you have done in the past to ensure their successful return to this area.

Those of us who live below you to the south, wish you the best of seasons this year.

Best wishes. jb

Sheryle,

Great news. They gave you an early Valentines.... I still have my two males and one female. I went out awhile ago and thought they were gone, but the male started talking to me as to let me know I Am Here and it's COLD :-( . One male flew out and circled a few times, but came right back. Hope this nasty weather goes away real soon.....

Thanks Meem and KC,

K.C. -- I am sure you will get Martins real soon since they are flying overhead. I kinda hope they hold out for a little bit since the weather is horrible for next couple of days. I know mine are hunkered inside the house/gourds. I feel sad for them cuz I know this weather is not good for them.

Meem, I saw that you posted that your neighbor doesn't like the noises/songs that the Martins make. That is so sad, I just can't believe that. I can't believe your neighbors are feeding the sparrows. Now the sparrows make a horrible noise...especially the males.-- that grinds on my nerves. My husband said to throw bird seeds in their yard..and then weeds will grow up and they will quit feeding the birds...My husband has a devious mind. HEE HEE Honestly, though I kinda wonder about our neighbors who live right behind us. They never say a word to us and I have a feeling they don't like the Martins.

The weather is awful and will be for the next couple of days. I looked outside today when I let the dogs out and they flew out of the houses but then just came right back in...to cold for them. Hopefully, this weather will get over quickly. It always seems like we get a cold spell in February.

I hope ya'll have a NICE Weekend.

Sheryle,

I love your husbands idea.... I think she is feeding her cats. She has eight as of last count. She doesn't like to sleep at night, and wants the neighbors to be quite during the day. In her dreams.

How are your pms? Mine went out and flew around for about five minutes. There was also a cat sitting below the rack. Needless to say I popped it twice with my ole faithful..... He yelled and jumped and ran.....

Hope this weather is gone soon................................
