Hello Everyone,
Look at there, look at there, Look at there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went out about 6:15 A.M., I know it is 4:00 A.M. when you should turn it on, the dawnsong that is!, and took a shower and went to the door about 6:50 A.M. and behold there was an ASY male on the top perch looking around and then down at the stereo wondering where is all the martins? I went out to see him fly around some more and he landed on the gazebo right under the stereo!!!! He probably was wondering why would you do this to me!!! HA! HA! I couldn't make it home tonight to see if he roosted or went on! But at least I got to finally see one!!! What a Friday to remember!!!! Almost called in to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! John!!

That's wonderful, John!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! What a thrill it is to see that first Martin! Hopefully he'll stay!

You can post your Scout report now (he doesn't have to spend the night). I'd keep playing the dawnsong too... Can't hurt!

I am up to 4 males and 2 females... Hoping for more tomorrow!

Hey John,

Congrats in seeing your first Martin. They seem to be all around us on the map. I'm still looking for the pair I had last year and have not seen any others. I just went out and turned on the DawnSong, it's 8:30, sort of slept in. I'll have it playing during the week at 4AM.

Good Luck with more arrivals. Maybe we can both get several pairs this year.

Hello Everyone,
Just got some bad news today and tonight! That ASY male I saw yesterday was not there this morning and did not see him come in to roost either! So my head was hanging lower and I was feeling alittle sad but at least I got to see him! Oh well, I will keep waiting for mine! I think that male was from another colony close by or just flying north I guess! John!

Well, I have two minds about our early martins. I'm delighted to see them of course, but on the other hand every day they delay is a day less they might encounter weather problems before the real warm weather gets here.

Sorry about that male not coming back though :???:

John, try not to be discouraged. When we were trying to get our first martins, every time we played the dawn song, a few of our neighbor's birds would come over and investigate. Of course, they promptly would go back home and my heart would fall. One of these days in the next two months, I just know some martins will come to your site, love it, and decide they are home. Hope you have a big ole bunch.

John, glad you are seeing some activity. Can you tell me where Cantonement is? I line in Ponte Vedra (25 miles north of St. Augustine) and am still waiting to see my first martin this year. Are you close to me?

Hello Mike,
I'm 10 minutes outside of Pensacola, Fl. 60 miles east of Mobile, AL. and 160 miles west of Tallahassee, FL! So I don't know where you are but hopefully that gives you a better idea of where I'm located! Well today I saw 2 martins fly over my lake real high today while I was playing the Daytime Chatter CD! So they are around here by me at other colonies so I have to be more patient I guess and wait for my three pairs from last year , my first! Thanks John!
