Is "top pulley" assembly available separately

I'd like to explore the idea of adding a lanyard'cable system to exisitng martin poles. It seems that if some "Top Pulley" assembly were available from some manufactured source, that would substantially advance the project.

Can anyone give suggestions regarding a "top pulley" assembly source?

The hope would be to then add that assembly to exisitng poles, (as well as newly fabricated ones.)

PS: As we become more senior, more experienced citizens, why do the poles seem to get heavier than before ??

Thanks. Tom

What kind of poles do you have? I use sch 40 galv 1&1/2 or 2" pipe. I leave the treads on the top end, weld a plate to the top of the coupling and mount a 3" pulley to the top of the plate. These pulleys can be found at most hardware stores.

What I use is a pulley from a garage door. I feel a garage door weighs more than a martin house. I get mine at Lowes in the garage door section.

My most recent poles are Coates HD, and my older ones are Nature house. Both are galv steel and the HD coates is larger diameter than Nature House ones.

I don't have welding capability, but I can "drill and bolt" That's the reason that I'm interested in a manufactured assembly that could be fastened/bolted on.

Thanks for responding. Tom

Tarababe If you have a 2005 Martin Market Place catalog, on the front page there is a picture of a gourd rack. I copied it and I am sending it. Take this to the local hardware store and see if they can make up something like it. I hope this will help.

Thanks for the illustration. It appears that there is an eye bolt mounted onto the pole and an ordinary pulley attached (probably from any hardware store). That seems a rather practical way to accomplish the adding of a cable or lanyard to an existing pole.

Are there any other tips or comments for converting an existing pole to cable or lanyard type operation?

Any suggestions for the types of housing to be used with that set-up? I'm now using m12k aluminum houses (with telescoping poles.)

Thanks again. Tom
