Martin Colony History: Erected 1st house in 1997. Birds were checking it out before Mike got down from the ladder. Six cavities had a little colony 1st year. Grown to 88 cavities all gourds with near 100% occupancy. Most important factor for success is rain = bugs.

Hi, Everyone!

We were cooking ribs on the pit Friday evening. At 5:30, I just got the feeling that I needed to step out in the yard and look up. Low and behold - there were 2 PMs flying overhead. I called Mike to come and see; we called and whistled and then there were 4.

They didn't come down low enough to get a good look, but two of them were not ASY males. They are, also, not members of our colony. They flew around and fed some and then they were gone...

It's raining today, but I will be going out for a look in a little while anyway.

Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,

Great news!! Keep them there a few more weeks and then send them to me!! I really hope they don't move further north until we get rain. Awfully dry.... then theres our Febuary ice storm yet to come>
