6" pipes modified to give more room

Here are some 6" PVC thin wall drain and sewer Cut 10" long and uncurled with a heat gun and pressed between 2 boards to straighten and hopefully make life more comfortable for the martins and easier to walk on.

I dont see why those wouldent work as good martin houses. Those boards take care of the slippery floor problem. Does any one know how well this thinwall PVC will stand up to a hailstorm?

This is a novel idea. How will the front and back be attached? Same as the floor, tacked inside the plastic?

Would like to hear more about this plan.

I plan to attach the bottom with screws and PPCA the ends in and maybe add tacks or screws will post more photos as the project progresses, thanks for your interest.

I think the label on the side of the pipe says crush load 3000# so I think from that and handling the pipe it will resist a hail storm that would break the support wire so it would be on the ground in tact with a broken wire. I hope we don't get to check out THAT hail storm and have it prove me wrong.
