Troy, did you put your house in a wide open area, as far away from trees as possible? Martins like the most open area with a long flyway in 1 or 2 directions..They need the long flyways to accelerate when they leave the house...

Yes I have the house in the most open area of my yard. Last year had birds on house and in gourds but none stayed overnite. Not giving up hope on this.

Hi Troy,
My first year I had 1 nesting pair but towards the end of the season I had several visitors. So many in fact that the next season I put up more housing and played the Dawn Song Tape every morning. That year I had 12 pairs and fledged 51! I have added even more housing this year and I can't wait until the season starts. Good luck this season!
Fledge on!

I would bet you will have some of those visitors from last year make a place at your house this year. Good Luck

Hello Troy,
Welcome Back! I had three pairs my first year here in Florida! With all the hurricane damage to other houses and gourds, you will get some this year! I added another pole with housing and gourds to get ready for those homeless martins! HA! Where exactly is that part of Florida do you live? I live in the Pensacola area. Thanks and good luck this year! John!
