Hello Everyone ,
It's that time again where we all get real excited and anxious to see the Purple Wave, I know I do,Mr. Lodi ,in answer to your question ,I keep my decoys up year round and have for year's , as per the pic's i have had posted on the pmca in the past, my decoys were very visible, I think it's a good thing to keep them up all year for several reasons ,not only for an attraction but as a deterant for the preditor's, when the Preditors attack and get Plastic , not a Meal , they look elsewhere and leave your colony alone especially if it's a repeaded attack ....take it from My first hand experience, i think it's just wise to leave them up and it can't hurt anything.

Wishing everyone a Great Martin Year
Happy Martining for 2022 to everyone,

I agree 100%. I plan to add a few more to my pair of decoys this year. Had 19 pair last year and would hate to lose one to a hawk or owl.

Definitely yes..............Man has used decoys, in all of his attraction efforts, for all kinds, fish, animals and birds. If you can acquire waste acrylic mirror material it will fasten, to your house, with hot glue. Wow...a way to, double the images an early arriver may see.

Martin Colony History: Tried and tried and had some visitors but...not enough good insects around here to keep them interested.

My decoy experience...I also keep 'em up all year round and my resident cooper's hawk has now "learned" after multiple false dinners that they are nothing but plastic. Maybe that's worth something by itself.
