Does anyone have any info on the fate of the La roosts? Have they migrated by now or were they in the path of Katrina?

As you can imagine, getting hold of anyone in the area is not easy right now. If we reach anyone who can give us solid information, we'll be sure to share what we learn. Some martins were doubtless in the area before Katrina struck, but hopefully they left in advance of the storm. Some martins are already well south of the Yucatan by now, and of course, northern roosts still hold 1000s of martins that will be heading south over the next few weeks.
